Austin, who has been working in his brother's place of business in this city forty years; DeWitt Clinton, who died about i860, leaving two daughters; and George H. , a hardware merchant in Claremont, N. H. , who has a wife and one daughter. Joseph Stowell remained on his father's farm until about eleven years old. From that time until he reached the age of twenty he was on the farm of Oliver Burr, the husband of his father's only sister.
