Georgetown Heights. Washington, D. C. May 11. 1907. Received his education in the schools of New York City. Upon leaving school he entered mercantile business which he gave up for Federal service during the Civil War; and it was not until after the close of the war and he Avas employed in the civil engineering corps of Central Park, New York, that he made his debut as a sculptor.
