‘You dare!’ said Mum. ‘Chris is bad enough without you starting too.’ ‘Then shut her up,’ I said.
‘What’s that, dear?’ said Aunt Maria. ‘Who’s shut up?’ It went on like that until the back door crashed open and Elaine marched Chris in, swinging her torch.
