As many as 100 million adult salmon and over one billion juvenile salmon migrate through the Bristol Bay region annually. The bay supports the largest herring population in U. S. Waters; and contains important feeding, spawning, and rearing habitat for yellowfin sole, pollock, and -2- 22 halibut.
