What reading level is Buckinghamshire book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:
In many places, especially in North Bucks, avenues of elms as at Thornton, or limes and horse-chestnuts as at Wavendon, have been planted, more rarely of beeches as in the northern part of Stowe avenue. The famous Burnham beeches owe their peculiar form to having been pollarded at some past time. The yew 10 a> u u u PQ e XI C Ui 56 BUCKIXGHAMSHIRE has been planted in churchyards from time immemorial, and there are ancient yews of immense girth in the churchyards at Ibstone, Hedsor, and Langley ...Marish. Wych elms ( Ulmus montana) are found in the Thames valley and about Brill, and the hornbeam [Carpinus betulus) is a common tree everywhere. Among famous oaks Waller's Oak, Coleshill must be mentioned Waller's Oak at Coleshill, and Cowper's Oak in Yardley Chase. Its beech-woods are the chief glory of South Bucks, for they are beautiful at all seasons. In winter, the bare branches massed together show in distant view a dark purple colour, which varies with the varying light and shade. On nearer approach, the gloom of the woods is broken by the pale grey-green of the columnar trunks.
