To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:
THE Kay property, referred to in my last paper, was up to the year 1848 held in trust from year to year, commencing at the death of Robert Kay, inventor of the drop-box, in 1802, to the death of his son-in-law, John Barlow, of Antrobus, county of Chester, in 1848. The management of this property in the old Market Place seems to have been in the hands of Samuel Kay, the son of Robert Kay. Samuel Kay died in the year 1830, having appointed his " nephew, Thomas Oram, and John White- head, of Elton..., bleacher, trustees and executors of this my last will and testament." By the kindness of Mrs. Samuel Oram, late of Beech Hill, in Bury, I am able to give a detailed description of the Old Market Place property. It will be well to mention here that Robert Kay was survived by three children, namely, Lucy, the wife of Thomas Oram, attorney-at-law ; Samuel Kay, whose Will I am now- referring to ; and Dorothy, the wife of John Barlow above-named. Samuel Kay's Will was signed and sealed 4th March, 1830.
