I remained with them tiU eleven o'clock, when we held service in the room generally used by the Methodists, but belonging to the post. There was a crowded and attentive congregation, and seven com- municants. After service, I called upon several church families, some of the members of which were sick. I both addressed the candidates extempore, and prea...ched ; Ave had again an excellent congregation. After evening service, I walked to see some sick members of the Church at a Mission station, about a mile from the Fort, and to call upon the Missionary whom I had deprived of his place of worship for the day. I returned somewhat late, and fatigued, although I have enjoyed the services of the day very much.
August 5th. — Rode to Graham's Town, in company with Mr. Fleming, who arrived at Fort Peddie, from King William's Town, a distance of thirty-five miles, by nine o'clock in the morning.
