Now it’s all up to you.” The horse whinnied in response with a gleam in her eye, as if she knew the importance of the day.
Time dragged by slowly. Cassie’s Hope would race in the seventh race, a feature race for fillies at one mile. The specter of Cassie’s mother and Louie still hung over this race.
Pulling herself together, Cassie reminded herself to think positively. Don’t give off the wrong vibes to the horse.
