In one of the houses Julia lodged ; but he now saw that the other end of the street was burning yet more fiercely than that through which he had scarcely been able to penetrate, and probably could not return. Caasar had taken this turning, and his voice from the next room chilled Vernon, who was standing gazing at the empty bed, by exclaiming, " Hi massa ! Here missis dead on the floor !
