Although his Fourteen Points sustained China's claims, nevertheless, President Wilson signed the Peace treaty for if he had decided the other way Ja])an would iiave witbdrawu from the Conference; and with Italy out and Japan al^o out, the League of Nations would have become nothing more than an alliance between England, France and America.
