Howbeit, Wolstan bishop of Worcester, and Egelwineabbat of Euesham, with the shirife of Worcester & Walter Lacie, soresisted the earle of Hereford, that he could not passe the Seuerne toioine with the earle of Cambridge. [Sidenote: _Iohn Pike. _] On theother side, Odo the bishop of Bayeux, and Geffrey the bishop ofConstances pursued the earle of Cambridge so narrowlie with an otherarmie, which they had gathered of the English and Normans, that theyconstreined him to flée into Britaine, whereby the rebellion was veriemuch appeased.
