There was a four-lane road just ahead, slicing through the heart of the colonia away from the industrial zone toward the border station and there was enough traffic on it now to hold them up for a minute, big grinding semis, beat-up Chevys carrying six and seven men to work, pickups with men crouching in back, and even a few taxis.
