N OT all fruits can be intergrafted. There must be a relation between stock and scion. In general plants of the same species but of different varieties may be inter- grafted, as any variety of apple, plum or pear, upon another. (Which is- most commonly practiced.) Many plants unite freely when grafted in one direction, that fail to unite when worked in the opposite direction.
