The question of sending a military foree to Vermont attended to, and a counter proposition was to notify the authorities of Ver- mont, &c. In the course of the debate, Mr. Clark informed con- gress that the delegates of New Jersey could not vote for any act which might oppose force to the authority of Vermont, the legis- lature of that state having so construed the resolutions of 7th and 20th of August as to be incompatible therewith, and accordingly instructed their delegates.' Report mentioned November 14, in regard to Ver- Dec.
