Collin, it is in other respects a favouraUe example lor the Old Corrector. The alterations of tibe text comprised in it amount to not less than 99 — the greatest number in any one play with the exception of Hamlet ; and it is the fortunate recipient of one of those far-famed nine ektibs lines — ^the wonders of the age — the miracles of the margins !
The conditions of the examination shall be these : — 1. The several items of correction shall be set down verbatim from the "List" printed by Mr. C...ollier ia his "Seven Lectures/' and extending from page 170 to page 174 of that volume.
2. Such corrections as have been traced to sources known previously to the promulgation of the margins, shall be restored to their several owners, and, where necessary, specially commented upon. [It is clearly unnecessary to treat this class in any other way : Firstly, because^ ia any case, the text derives no advantage from them through the Old Corrector, inasmuch as they were previously obtainable elsewhere.
