It may not be improper on the part of the clerk aforesaid to state, for the more full information of the House of Delegates, that in addition to the aggregate sum shown above, he has during the same period received the further sum of $4,6-32.82, derivable from the same sources, out of which latter sura he has paid into the public Treasury of the State, the sum of $2400, payable there to the chief judge, and the balance thereof, $2,232.82, he has paid over to the said judge. To whom, together wi...th the asso- ciate judges, the above taxes are bylaw made payable equally in quarter yearly payments.
It may be proper further to remark, that out of the tax of $2 on actions at law, $1.50 only is applicable to the payment of the Judges, the balance of 50 cents, upon the repeal of the acts of Assembly relative to amerciaments, and to lay a tax on plaintiffs "who may institute actions at law in the several county courts of this State, is received for the use of the State with the other, and paid into the public Treasury thereof in pursuance of said law.
