The warrant of a Chapter can be forfeited only upon charges regularly made in Grand Chapter at its Annual Convocation, of which due notice shall be given to the Chapter and an opportunity of being heard in defence ; but it may be suspended by the Grand High Priest, for any cause which he shall deem sufficient : but such suspension shall not extend be- yond the next Annual Convocation. The acts for either of which a warrant may be forfeited are co...ntumacy to the authority of the Grand Chapter or the Grand High Priest ; violation of the fundamental prin- ciples of Eoyal Arch Masonry, or of the provisions of this Con- stitution ; neglecting to meet for one year or more ; the non- payment of dues to the Grand Chapter for two years succes- sively ; and a neglect or refusal to practice the Standard "Work of r the General Grand Chapter, as promulgated by this Grand Chapter. Chapter Deprived of Warrant or Dispensation. Sec. 36. The surrender or forfeiture of a warrant or dispen- sation, when adjudged by the Grand Chapter, shall be conclu- sive upon the Chapter and its members, and shall carry with it all the property of the Chapter, which shall become the prop- erty of the Grand Chapter, and, on demand, shall be surren- dered to the Grand Chapter or its authorized agent ; excepting therefrom the property and funds of such Chapters as may have availed themselves of the provisions of and powers con- ferred by Chapter 317 of the Laws of the State of New York passed April 2, 1866, entitled "An Act to enable Lodges and Chapters of Free and Accepted Masons to take, hold and con- vey real and personal estate."
