In two works of recent date, however, Tcherep- nin contrives to bring about a crystallization of elements. In his deKghtful setting of the Balmont Fairy Tales he has reached something like a style of his own, and there is a conciseness of form and a harmonic economy which suit the Hterary material admirably.
