Length 1. 4, Breadth . 7, of an inch.
Observations. Unfortunately but a single specimen of this truly beautiful shell has come into my possession. It is perfect and presents very remarkable decussating striae, which are so regularly placed as to present the ap pearance of meshes, the point of section being enlarged. This enlargement causes the angle of the whorls to be somewhat granulate. It seems from Sowerby s figuref to resemble pretty closely the Pyrula nexilis\ (Lamarck), (Murex nexilis of Brander).
