In 1549, the •Council, acting for the young king, commands Bonner, Bishop of London, that certain Masses of peculiar name be abohshed, and that " the holy blessed communion, according to the Act of Parliament, be ministered at the high altar of the Church, and in no other places of the same, and only at such time, as your high Masses were wont to be used." Therefore they took away low Mass, and high Mass had merged into holy commimion.
