However, the Academy's lexicon of 1694 would not admit the new term. See " Lexique,*' under et. In his firs...t édition of the "Examen** (1660) Corneille wrote ".vingt-quatre,** both hère and at the end of the next paragraph. See éd. vol. iii, p. 97, notes I and 2.
