26 CHARLES CANNON CREER Charles Cannon Creer, fourth son of William and Sarah Jane Bradley Creer, was born in Spanish Fork, Utah, April 6, 1865. He attended the public schools of that community and at an early age was interested in railro...ad build- ing. Later he was engaged extensively in agri- culture and livestock raising. He was one of the first to introduce Hereford cattle in Utah Valley. He and his brother Joseph improved a farm of one hundred-sixty acres which his fa- ther had homesteaded in Lake Shore, then known as the "Indian Farm" and when multiplied civic responsibilities diverted the father's interests, the farm was turned over to the two boys. In 1888, when Joseph was called on a mission to England, Charles leased his brother's share of the farm and materially assisted in defraying the expense of the mission.
