For Oland, there was no nightmare, just a horrifying reality. He fought sleep. But, as he listened to the gentle, lapping, lying ocean, exhaustion finally took over.

He was the one person who could have saved her. And he had failed. There would be no second chance. He looked out again at the mocking calm of the sea.
