Talen still remembered the day Da had put the weave of godsweed about his arm. Not knowing what it was or what Da was doing, he’d worn it. Da had ...wanted to begin Talen’s awakening to the power. And it had awakened him. It had multiplied him like a dreadman and almost killed him. Every person had different capabilities. Some were of a breed that could multiply themselves more than others. Some, with even the most powerful of weaves upon them, might feel no effect at all. Talen multiplied with only the slightest touch of power. That’s why his Da’s weave had almost killed him. He hoped these candidates fared better than he did that first time.
