Stopping only long enough to ascertain she had a pulse, and hoping the girl wasn’t hurt too badly, he ran toward the grunts and screams coming from the next room. He was holding a gun in one hand, his free hand roving all over her body. She grabbed his hand and tried to keep it from touching her, but he pulled it free and slapped her across the face.
