Income from operations of the stores, excluding the excise taxes and all taxes developed by the liquor monopoly as per exhibit "C" reflects according to our determinations a profit of $8,015,486.00 whereas the Department under its method of costing sales at the last price, shows a profit on storer operations of $7,521,853.00 a difference of $493,633.00.
There is no practical way to reconcile the difference but it is due to costing sales at the latest cost price which has the effect of over costing sales of inventory bought at a lower price.
