Present law does not provide a tax credit for these costs. Explanation of Provision... In general . — The bill would provide an income tax credit to eligible employers. The credit would be determined by reference to the administrative cost of maintaining a qualified pension plan (a qualified pension, profit-sharing, or stock bonus plan that meets specified vesting requirements, or a simplified employee pension (SEP)). The full amount of the credit would be provided for an eligible employer with not more than 50 employees. The credit would be reduced for eligible employers with more than 50 employees.
