On the arteries the light streak is broad, bright and reddish in color; on the veins it is narrow, dull and white. These distinctions apply only to large and medium sized vessels, the character of a small vessel must be determined by tracing it back to its source. Retinal vessels brancli dichotomously and diminish in size from disc to periphery.
