TREATMENT OF CHOLERA 287 With this information before them the members of the State Live Stock Sanitary Commission were enabled to prepare maps showing the location of each herd of swine in the county, with the number of hogs on the premises. They were also able to locate on... these maps the exact location of all infected farms, and outline a plan for controlling the disease in these infected areas and prevent its spread into new territory.
Quarantine Rules. — With a view to the prevention of in- troduction of new sources of infection from outside the county, and also to prevent scattering of the disease within the county, certain quarantine regulations were drawn up and put in force.
As a prehminary move, it was required that all public stock- yards in the county be disinfected.
