Answer.
I was appointed a member of the Board of Internal Improvement in the winter of 1835-'36; was sworn into office on 17th March, 1836, and continued a member until 4th March, 1839. During that time 1 was acting commissioner on the Madison and Indianapolis Railroad.
Interrogatory No. 2.
Who was the principal engineer first employed on said road? Who advised the present location of the Madison and Indianapolis Railroad, 415 from the top of the Madison hill, to its termination near the Ohio river?
