AN AC T FOR THE GOVERNMENT OF THE INDIANA HOSPITAL FOR THE INSANF^ AND THE CARE OF THE INSANE OF INDIANA.
Whereas, By the taking effect of the present constitution the office of Associate Judge is abolished; And whereas, There is no law now in force regulating the admis- sion of patients into the Hospital for the Insane; And whereas. An emergency exists making it necessary that this act shall take effect immediately ; therefore, Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of I...ndiana, That there shall be six Commissioners of the Indiana Hospital for the Insane, who shall be elected by a joint vote by the General Assembly, and three of whom, to be deter- mined by lot, shall serve two years, and the other three four j'ear, from the day of their election, and until their successors are elected and qualified. When a vacancy occurs during the recess of the General Assembly, it shall be filled by the Governor.
The person so appointed shall serve until an election is made by the General Assembly.
