In active service the use of ordin...ary Aimy or other wagons for transporting the sick and wounded is of everyday occurrence, and it is important that bearers should be practiced in preparing, loading, and unloading such vehicles. Patients may be laid on straw or other like material spread thickly over the bottom of the wagon, or on hand litters placed on the bottom, or suspended by ropes or straps. The movements heretofore fully described, to load and unload, will, if thoroughly understood, meet the requirements of any emergency of this character.
