A majority of the companies answering considered % Inch a proper allowance for difference between wheel gauge and track gauge on each side and that the proper point to measure the wheel gauge on other than M. The grooves were 1-^-inch when new, and would let the standard wheel through, under all conditions up to a 9-foot wheel base and 35-foot radius curve.
