In some sections a new tapping is made every day, in others every other day. At RUBBER 769 the camps the rubher is separated from the sap by drying out the moisture over a smoky fixe made in such a way that the smoke contains a considerable proportion of acetic acid and creosote — a slow process. A great saving of time in this coagulation proc- ess has been accomplished by the introduction of a new treat- ment of the raw sap with a mixture of benzine and wood alcohol.
