Indeed upon this ^dew the difficulty appears to be at an end, for according to it the way we are brought to a point from which we can, as it were, look directly into those changes of form which are exhibited in the processes put out from the Amseba, or colourless corpuscle of the blood. Indeed, every Actinia passes through a rudimentary condition which differs in no essential particular from that in which the protozoon, or corpuscle is permanently fixed.
