But where shall I find either the one or the other, unless in the heavenly doc- trine of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the example which he hath left us. Yes, He is the way, the truth, and the life. To him we must continually look, after him we must frame our lives ; to his voice we must be attentive and obedient, and in his steps we must tread. Whoever follows him with sincerity and perseverance can- not go astray ; but will finally attain the highest degree of perfection of which he is capable.
