It was remodeled in 1866, the gal- lery which extended on three sides was torn out, the doors were moved from the west to the south side, a vestibule built on that side and the walls frescoed. The chu?ch edifice, which preceded the present one and which both tradition and the records show was the first meeting house west of the Susquehanna and north of York county, was a small log building near where the present house stands.
