The registration of voters is required in the following States, viz. : Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Mas- sachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, and AVyoining —26 States; and also in the Territories of Arizona and New Mexico.
