The main process of rolling the metal out into desired shapes is not hazardous and consists of passing the steel ingots heated to a plastic state between rolls of various 48 shapes, then sawing the product into the desired lengths. The principle hazard is in connection with the handling of the hot metal and all floors should be of non-combustible construction.
Some mention will now be given machine shops, but this is the least hazardous of all the metal working classes.
