HENRY HAWKINS. Messrs. Kingan and Brady, having held office elsewhere as elders previously, were installed, and Mr. Henry Hawkins was ordained. From 1 Sol Mr. Brady was Session Clerk. Again, on a Sabbath in March, 1859, three were added — Messrs. ROBERT DEMPSTER. THOMAS WOOD. WILLIAM HUTCHISON.' Messrs. Dempster and Wood were ordained to office, and Mr. Hutchison, who had been previously an elder of the Free Church of Scotland, was installed. From 1859 Mr. Hutchison was Session Clerk. When Mr. ...Moran resigned the Congregation on Patrick's O DO Day, 18G2, these three were the only elders ill office, all the others being dead or removed. This is a convenient point at which to return to the year 1810, and to the Congregation of the Secession. The increase of vitality consequent upon the union of the two Synods affected the Secession Congregation (known after the union as Second Ncwry) also. Under the faithful anil successful ministry of Mr. Weir it 47 increased so much that the old place of worship oft' Church Street was too small to accommodate the worshippers, and the new Church on Downshire Road was opened on the 6th March, IS 1-1.
