North's "Plutarch." Paul Stapfer (in his " Shakespeare and Classical Antiquity ") writes: — "One thing, however, is certain, and that is, that it was only through Amyot, or rather through his English translator, Sir Thomas North, that Shakespeare became acquainted with Plutarch, The proof of this is easy and amusing.
