A common method of enlarging designs is given in fig. 14, which is a leaf of the horse-chestnut, of which it is desired to make a copy twice the size of the original. Draw over the pattern any number of straight lines at equal distances apart, and intersect them at right angles by other lines at similar dis- tances.
