He got as close as possible to announcing for the presidency there. I said to him afterwards, "Gene, how could you do this to me!" He all but announced his candidacy. It was a huge audience! And people stamping in the aisles for him it was a spectacular turn-on event. We went on from there to the student union, or whatever it is, and answered questions for awhile, mostly dealing with the war.
