Cases of pyloric stenosis due to gall-stones have been reported by several observers, and in nearly all of them the trouble was supposed, during life, to depend on cancer of the pylorus. The causes of death in intestinal obstruction from gall-stones is exhaustion from the incessant vomiting and peritonitis. The infection of the peritoneum may be due to leakage at the edges of the fistula between gall-bladder and gu...t, or more commonly perforation and gangrene of the intestine at the seat of impaction. In some cases the patients have died after the calculus has been voided in consequence of peri- tonitis following injury to the terminal section of the ileum, or the parts in the immediate vicinity of the ileo-caecal valve.
