Well, then, remember, it is not another, but the same hand and the same heart, which bereaves. He who gave was God ; and when he takes away, he whispers, / am God. He has not changed. The tenderness of his pity has not abated, nor the purpose of his love been turned aside. Like as a father 2^iiietk his children, even so the Lord pitieth the^m that fear him. And shall we murmur and repine while that purpose of love is moving forward to its accomplishment % What though, in its progress, there may be some things dark, and to us in- scrutable !
