PRATHER, JOHN THOMAS Private Son of James and Laura Prather; born September 7, 1890, Bloomfield, Ky. Came to Marion County, Ind. in 1917. Farmer. Enlisted in U.S. Regular Army October 6, 1917, Indianapolis, Ind.... Trained at Camp Taylor, Ky., Camp Logan, Tex., and Camp Upton, N. Y. Embarked May 21, 1918. Assigned to Company F, 131st Infantry. Killed in action August 9, 1918 in battle of Chipilly Ridge. Buried in British Military Cemetery (English map 62-D-K22-A41). Survived by widow, Edna C. Prather, and daughter, Lizetta, Indian- apolis.
