What reading level is Guilty Wives book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:
said LaFave, the captain of the prison’s elite Unité d’Intervention Tactique—the Tactical Response Unit—on the phone with Boulez as Boulez traveled back to the prison. “The prison is locked down?” Boulez said. “The bloodhounds are out?” “Yes, sir. But as I said, I don’t think she’s in the prison, and I don’t think she’s on foot.” “You think she drove Lucy’s car right out.” “Affirmative, sir.” It had taken everyone a few minutes, unfortunately, to sort through the confusion. When Luisa first disc...overed that bed 1 in the infirmary’s secured area contained not the prisoner but a drugged prison guard—Lucy—the initial reaction was that Abbie Elliot was somewhere still within the walls of the prison, carrying a Glock handgun. Lockdown procedures had been put in place and a search initiated. It took a few minutes before they realized the second, crucial piece of information—that while Lucy was lying in bed 1 in a drug-induced slumber, her car had been driven out of the prison, through the main gate, at 2:06 a.m.

Enjoyed this book. The prison scenes were horrendous and really hope that women weren't treated like this in reality.

And I forgot to add that James should give LOOOONG rest to his heroines who again, as always, are middle aged, in their 40s, but ALWAYS with looks and figures that would make Helen of Troy, envious, realty totally ridiculous-
Stop it !!

This was far more interesting to read than the others which I justly criticzed; BUT the scene of debauchery on the yacht by intelligent normally respectable married society women of good reputations, was NOT at all realistic nor believable
I'll stay away from France from now on; even though the scenes were vastly hyperbolic---
And the sadistic guards were not punished-which they richly deserved; they were actually vicious brutal multiple murderers !!

A good read. 2nd time I've read this book. Should have been made into a movie. I'm a huge James Patterson fan.

I so enjoyed this read, it had everything that I look for in a book. Intrigue, mystery, romance, passion and at times comedic relief (though I wouldn't call this book a comedy by any stretch). I couldn't put it down, there were so many twists and turns. Right when you settled into a story, it threw a curve ball and almost created a new story. But it was all wrapped together nicely, every story line was brought back into the ending and it made you really think back to an earlier time in the book to a particular event that was brought up. So well planned.
