115. The federal jurisdiction by removal from the state courts extends to suits by the United States.
As the federal courts are given ...original jurisdiction of these suits by the first section of the act of August 13, 1888, it fol- lows that the nonresident defendant could remove such a suit into the federal court if brought in a state court, and that, too, independent of the amount involved, as it has been decided that the federal courts have original jurisdiction of suits by the United States, even though the amount involved is less than two thousand dollars. *' *» U.
