But there is nothing too good or beautiful to proceed from a God of infinite perfec- tion. The truth is, the great mistake of the vast body of professed Christians is, that they doubt God, have too low an estimate of His goodness, and of the future beauties and glories of our home in Heav- en. They talk of the other world as if it were similar to this, — ^filled with the same imperfections and controlled by the same influences, when the Bi- ble everywhere describes it as one greatly exalted, as... of pure spirituality, and as being resplendent with glory. So far in advance is it, compared with the present life, that Paul declares it impossible for 150 HEAVEN OUR HOME. - 151 the human soul in this existence, with its limited capacity, to entertain anything like a correct con- ception of its wonders, its delights, its glories. * The tendency of everything that will go to make up our nature in the future life, will be to protect us from error and wrong and defilement. We have spoken of the superior beauty and purity of our fu- ture bodies ; we will now add that these spiritual structures for the future habitation of the soul, will be not only pure and beautiful, but perfect in their organization, as must be all things in the -heavenly life, and hence the spiritual organs, so to speak, throui^h which the soul will act, will be such that the ifrnorance and mistakes of our present existence will not be possible in the futui-e, which is another powerful reason for the belief that sin will not be possible in that existence.
