Eminent clergymen, like Bishop Creighton, Bishop Winnington- Ingram, Bishop Barry, Bishop Gore, Dean Farrar, Canon Scott Holland, Canon Barnett, Archdeacon Sinclair, and others, all most kindly gave their help. Each Lecture was given apart from any service except the " Bidding Prayer " before and a collect after, and a hymn ; a short Organ-recital, with one or two sacred songs, preceded and followed the Lecture with excellent effect.
